The Director, Activation at WPP Media is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of audiovisual (AV) campaigns across multiple clients. This position involves managing media buying commitments, developing AV strategies, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality work that aligns with client objectives. The role is integral to WPP Media's mission of delivering creative personalization at scale through its AI-driven media operations.
Key responsibilities include delivering media buying commitments across various clients, each with distinct auditors and methodologies. The Director is expected to manage all aspects of daily buying delivery, ensuring that campaign objectives, deal parameters, and client commitments are met. This involves hands-on supervision of team members to maintain adherence to processes and administrative tasks, such as approvals, spend checks, reconciliations, and financial administration.
The role requires developing annual, quarterly, and campaign-based AV strategies tailored to each client. This includes justifying the inclusion of linear TV and Video on Demand in schedules, evaluating various campaign options, and presenting post-campaign analyses to inform future planning. Additionally, the Director may be called upon to present elements of the AV strategy during new business pitches.
Team management is a critical component, with responsibilities encompassing oversight of work accuracy and quality, motivation of team members to maintain high standards, guidance on prioritization to meet deadlines, and coaching to foster professional development.
