Cerebras Systems is seeking a Director of Compliance to lead and manage its international trade compliance program, complex contract compliance programs—including government contracts—and assist with privacy, ethics, anti-corruption, and other regulatory compliance matters. This role involves close collaboration with all departments to ensure that the company's products and operations comply with U.S. and international laws, public company regulatory obligations, and contractual commitments. The position reports directly to the General Counsel and offers the opportunity to work on high-visibility and cutting-edge legal and compliance issues at the intersection of AI and advanced computing.

Key responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining a global compliance program aligned with U.S. and global export control regimes, such as the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) regulations. The Director will support Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) classification and technical export analyses for advanced semiconductor and AI hardware products. Monitoring and educating the organization on regulatory developments at the intersection of AI and advanced computing is also essential. Additionally, the role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining compliance programs for complex commercial agreements, including government contracts and programs, and assisting with other critical compliance matters, such as privacy, supply chain, environmental, code of conduct and ethics, and anti-corruption. Building a scalable compliance training program for global employees and serving as a trusted advisor to leadership on compliance risk and strategy are also key aspects of the role.

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in legal, compliance, or regulatory roles, with a strong preference for experience in semiconductors, advanced computing, cloud infrastructure, aerospace/defense, or other export-controlled industries. Familiarity with export and sanctions programs, as well as some experience and interest in federal programs, is highly desirable. Hands-on experience with building and scaling enterprise compliance and training programs in high-growth environments is essential. The candidate should possess the ability to communicate complex regulatory requirements clearly and translate them into operational controls. A proactive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to operate independently with attention to detail are crucial. Fully remote candidates will be considered.
