Director, Legal - Korea

Netflix is seeking a Director of Legal to lead its legal team in Korea. This role involves overseeing all legal aspects of Netflix's operations in the region, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations, and supporting the company's strategic initiatives. The position is based in Seoul, South Korea, and reports to the Vice President of Legal for Asia Pacific.

Key responsibilities include providing legal counsel on a wide range of matters, including content licensing, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and employment law. The Director will collaborate closely with various departments, such as content, marketing, and public policy, to support business objectives and mitigate legal risks. Additionally, the role involves managing external legal counsel and staying abreast of legal developments in the Korean market.

The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a reputable law school and at least 10 years of legal experience, with a significant portion spent in-house or at a law firm specializing in media and entertainment law. Fluency in both Korean and English is essential, along with a deep understanding of Korean laws and regulations affecting the entertainment industry. Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment are also required.
