Director - Litigation, Competition & Regulatory Affairs, EMEA
The Director of Litigation, Competition & Regulatory Affairs for EMEA at Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) will serve as the primary legal counsel for litigation, competition, and regulatory matters within the EMEA region, encompassing Europe and the UK. This role involves close collaboration with SIE's global litigation, competition, and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with competition laws and to manage regulatory investigations and proceedings. The position is based in London, UK, and reports directly to the Vice President of Litigation, IP, Competition, and Regulatory Affairs.
Key responsibilities include formulating and implementing internal processes to ensure compliance with global regulatory obligations, representing SIE's interests before authorities and agencies, managing litigation and regulatory matters in partnership with outside counsel, and conducting periodic risk assessments under competition and consumer protection laws. The role also involves developing policies and guidelines for SIE's business and legal departments, providing training on competition laws and regulatory requirements, and collaborating with SIE's Government Affairs team on public policy initiatives related to competition and other pertinent issues.
Candidates should possess a Juris Doctorate or equivalent international degree and an active license to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in litigation, competition, and regulatory matters, preferably with a mix of in-house counsel and private practice experience. A strong understanding of competition law principles, excellent collaboration and communication skills, and the ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams are essential. Experience advising on European and international regulatory agencies' activities, including competition matters, is highly desirable.
