Director of Engineering, Enterprise Product
The Director of Engineering, Enterprise Product at SeatGeek is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the engineering teams that develop and maintain the core ticketing platform used by teams, venues, and promoters worldwide. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Engineering and plays a crucial part in shaping the technical direction and evolution of SeatGeek's enterprise products. SeatGeek is a leading mobile-focused ticket platform that aims to simplify and modernize the ticketing industry, serving major live event venues globally.
In this role, the Director will set the technical direction for the enterprise product, collaborating with Engineering Managers and senior engineers on architecture, system ownership, modernization, and platform boundaries. They will lead the evolution of a mature, business-critical platform, balancing client commitments with long-term reliability, scalability, and modernization. The Director will also contribute directly to technology through coding, prototyping, debugging, architecture reviews, technical designs, and documentation. A key aspect of this role is pioneering AI-native engineering by evolving how teams design, build, test, operate, and understand software, turning successful experiments into repeatable improvements.
Candidates should have experience leading multiple engineering teams and Engineering Managers in a complex software organization. Strong technical judgment and architectural depth are essential to work credibly with senior engineers on difficult system and platform decisions. A willingness and ability to contribute technically when it is the highest-leverage way to help, including architecture, technical writing, prototyping, debugging, and code, is important. Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development and a strong point of view on how AI changes engineering practices and the software development lifecycle are highly desirable. Experience evolving mature, business-critical systems while continuing to deliver customer value, creating technical strategy from ambiguous product and business problems, and partnering closely with senior Product and Design leaders are also key qualifications.
