Director of Program Management

Gong is seeking a Director of Program Management to establish and lead a centralized Program Management team within its Product and Engineering divisions. This role is pivotal in driving complex, cross-team initiatives to completion, ensuring predictable delivery across product pillars, and maintaining operational rigor in managing initiative health, dependencies, risks, decisions, and release readiness.

The Director will be responsible for leading, coaching, and developing the Program Management team, setting clear expectations, and elevating execution standards across Product and Engineering. They will build and continuously improve Gong’s program management methodologies, tools, templates, and operating standards, including planning frameworks, milestone tracking, dependency management, risk escalation, status reporting, and execution cadences. Additionally, the Director will drive cross-team and long-running initiatives to completion, ensuring clear ownership, disciplined execution, timely decisions, and strong follow-through across teams.

The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in technical program or project management within SaaS, product, R&D, or complex technology environments, and at least 5 years of experience managing Program or Project Managers. They should have a proven ability to coach, develop, and elevate team performance, as well as experience in building or scaling program management methodologies, tools, templates, cadences, and standards in a fast-moving Product and Engineering organization. Success in delivering large-scale, cross-functional initiatives across multiple teams and functions is essential.
