Director -Revenue Accounting
Job Requirements:
Revenue Accounting & Technical Expertise
Deep, hands-on expertise in ASC 606, including complex, multi-element arrangements, performance obligation identification, transaction price allocation, and revenue recognition timing
Strong command of US GAAP, with the ability to apply guidance to evolving and non-standard revenue models
Proven experience leading revenue accounting for organizations with $100M+ in annual revenue, 250+ concurrent customers, and hundreds of active contracts
Demonstrated success managing revenue in high-volume environments with thousands of individual deliverables recognized across multiple periods
End-to-End Revenue Operations Ownership:
Executive ownership of revenue accounting across the full revenue lifecycle, from contract review through billing, revenue recognition, and cash collection
Close cooperation with the Director of Contract Management on:
Contract intake standards and required data elements
Revenue review of new contracts, amendments, change orders, renewals, and terminations
Contract classification and interpretation for revenue recognition, billing, WIP, and PoC purposes
End-to-end ownership of Work in Progress (WIP) and Percentage of Completion (PoC) accounting, including cost-to-cost, milestone-based, and output methodologies
Expert management and reconciliation of:
Deferred Revenue
Unbilled Revenue /Contract Assets
Accrued Revenue
Billing, Accounts Receivable & Collections Leadership:
Direct oversight of the Billing function, ensuring accurate, timely, and contract-compliant invoicing
Full ownership of Accounts Receivable operations, including:
AR aging and exposure analysis
Credit risk assessment
Cash application and reconciliation
Leadership of collections and dunning strategy, including:
Design and execution of dunning workflows
Escalation management for past-due and disputed balances
Collaboration with Sales, Customer Success, and Legal on customer payment issues
