Director, Silicon Logical Design
Graphcore is seeking a Director of Silicon Logical Design to lead and expand the Logical Design group within the Silicon department. This pivotal role involves overseeing the strategy, technical direction, execution quality, and team development for Graphcore's microarchitecture and RTL design initiatives. The Director will ensure that logical design methodologies, architectures, and RTL implementations meet world-class standards for performance, power, area, and schedule. Collaboration with Architecture, Physical Design, Verification, DFT, and Program Management teams is essential to achieve successful and predictable silicon delivery aligned with Graphcore's long-term product roadmap.
Key responsibilities include defining and executing the strategic roadmap for Logical Design, leading and mentoring a high-performing RTL/microarchitecture design organization, and establishing best-in-class design methodologies, documentation standards, and quality metrics. The Director will provide technical oversight of microarchitecture specification and RTL development across all major blocks and subsystems, guide architectural feasibility studies, and oversee the integration of third-party IP and high-performance custom designs. Ensuring robust design sign-off through high-quality linting, synthesis, CDC/RDC, timing closure, and coverage metrics is also a critical aspect of the role.
The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with an advanced degree preferred. Extensive experience in digital logical design, micro-architecture, and RTL development for large-scale, high-performance silicon projects is required. Proven success in leading and developing technical teams within a semiconductor environment, deep expertise in SystemVerilog or VHDL, and familiarity with modern digital design flows are essential. Strong organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and demonstrated excellence in cross-functional leadership and communication across global teams are also key qualifications.
