Canonical is seeking an Embedded Devices Software Solution Sales Account Manager to join its globally distributed team. This role focuses on expanding the reach of Ubuntu, Canonical's widely adopted open-source platform, into mission-critical industries such as consumer electronics, industrial automation, automotive, and robotics. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic sales team dedicated to promoting Ubuntu Core for IoT, a product designed for high-end appliances and equipment requiring robust security and resilience.

The primary responsibilities include developing and executing a territory sales plan targeting leading security-focused brands and manufacturers. This involves proactive outreach, prospecting, and participation in industry events to build a strong sales pipeline. The role also entails managing customer relationships throughout the sales cycle, collaborating with field engineers to understand and meet customer requirements, and maintaining accurate data and forecasts within Salesforce. Achieving and exceeding quarterly and annual booking targets is a key aspect of this position.

Candidates should possess an exceptional academic background, including an undergraduate degree in a technical field. A proven track record in field sales, particularly in embedded Linux, embedded software, or enterprise software, is essential. Experience with Linux, preferably Debian or Ubuntu, along with excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, is required. The role demands a result-oriented individual with the ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events and up to 50% for customer meetings and industry events.
