In this position, the Energy Lawyer will deliver practical, business-focused legal advice on various energy matters, including power, gas, renewables, utilities, and low-carbon initiatives. Responsibilities encompass drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide array of energy-related documents such as power purchase agreements, offtake agreements, supply agreements, development agreements, and connection agreements. The role also involves supporting energy transactions and projects, addressing regulatory issues, project development, commercial arrangements, joint ventures, acquisitions, and stakeholder coordination. Collaboration with legal, regulatory, commercial, trading, procurement, finance, development, and business teams is essential to manage legal risks and achieve commercial outcomes.
Candidates should be qualified lawyers in the UK or an equivalent jurisdiction, with relevant experience in UK energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors. Experience advising on areas such as power, gas, renewables, utilities, project development, energy regulation, trading, supply, or offtake arrangements is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial awareness, excellent drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to provide clear, pragmatic, and business-focused advice.
