Engineering Manager - Data

As an Engineering Manager - Data at Skyscanner, you will lead a high-performing squad within the Core Data team, focusing on building reliable and scalable data products that power various aspects of the company's AI-driven travel services. This role offers the opportunity to shape the data backbone of a global travel brand, ensuring that data platforms are prepared for future advancements in artificial intelligence.

Your primary responsibilities will include hiring, coaching, and developing a team of talented data engineers, fostering a culture of experimentation and continuous learning. You will oversee the delivery and quality of data products, prioritize work, and ensure high standards across all outputs. Additionally, you will drive engineering excellence by championing best practices in testing, observability, continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), and performance optimization.

The ideal candidate will have experience leading and growing data engineering teams in product-led environments, with a strong technical background in modern data stacks such as Databricks, Spark, Airflow, SQL, and Python. A solid understanding of distributed systems and cloud platforms is essential, along with a commitment to quality and operational excellence. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across disciplines are also important.
