Enterprise Database Sales Engineer

Actian is seeking an experienced Enterprise Database Sales Engineer to join our dynamic Sales Engineering team. This role is pivotal in providing technical expertise and pre-sales support to drive the successful conversion of prospects into customers. As a key technical point of contact, you will collaborate closely with the sales team to understand customer needs and demonstrate how Actian's solutions can address their complex data challenges.

In this position, you will be responsible for scoping, defining, and delivering product demonstrations and executing proof-of-concept projects. Your day-to-day activities will include conducting needs analyses, providing strategic pre-sales support, and creating compelling product presentations tailored to customer requirements. Additionally, you will maintain a deep understanding of competitive technologies to effectively position Actian's offerings in the market.

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a pre-sales or post-sales technical role, with a strong background in database management and data analytics. A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field is required. Proficiency in SQL, experience with relational and large-scale analytics databases, and familiarity with AI vector databases are essential. Strong presentation skills and the ability to engage with both technical and executive audiences are also critical.
