Bird, a global leader in micromobility, is seeking a Fleet Manager for its Cranbrook, British Columbia operations. This independent contractor role involves overseeing a fleet of e-scooters and e-bikes, ensuring they are charged, safe, and strategically positioned to meet the community's transportation needs. Ideal for entrepreneurial individuals or logistics businesses, the position offers scalability based on capacity, with earnings directly tied to performance.
Key responsibilities include transporting, deploying, relocating, and retrieving e-scooters and e-bikes daily, as well as performing timely repairs and general maintenance to uphold brand standards and rider safety. Operational management involves overseeing the end-to-end operation of the assigned portfolio, ensuring vehicles are available in high-demand areas, and problem-solving in real-time to navigate local geography efficiently.
Applicants must own or have consistent access to at least one large vehicle (van/truck) suitable for transporting multiple scooters/bikes. Access to a garage, warehouse, or commercial facility with electricity is highly preferred for overnight charging. A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or applicable commercial license) with a clean driving record is required. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly and the capacity to stoop, bend, walk, and stand for extended periods. A flexible schedule with a willingness to operate on weekends is necessary, along with comfort in learning new mobile tools to manage the fleet.
This is a revenue-share opportunity where earnings are directly tied to output. Based on a fleet volume of approximately 150 vehicles daily, this role offers an earning potential of $900 per week, with the opportunity to earn significantly more based on speed and performance. As an independent contractor, you are responsible for your own tools, equipment, and any associated expenses required to complete your work. You manage your own schedule and workload to meet the operational needs of the market.
