GenAI Strategic Projects Lead, Public Sector
Scale AI is at the forefront of the artificial intelligence industry, enhancing leading generative AI and large language models through model evaluations, supervised fine-tuning datasets, and reinforcement learning with human feedback. The Public Sector team is expanding in the Generative AI space and seeks a Strategic Projects Lead to manage high-impact projects that drive revenue and experimentation. This role involves collaboration across operations, engineering, and customer engagement to produce top-tier training and evaluation data for large language models tailored to public sector clients.
The Strategic Projects Lead will develop and maintain efficient, scalable data pipelines that yield high-quality outputs. Responsibilities include overseeing daily progress on critical data production pipelines, ensuring projects advance effectively. The role requires partnering with subject matter experts to validate data quality and translate domain knowledge into scalable processes. Additionally, the lead will work closely with customers to understand their requirements and design data taxonomies that optimize model performance. Utilizing analytics and data visualization tools to track progress, identify bottlenecks, and make data-driven decisions to enhance pipeline performance is also essential.
Candidates should possess over five years of experience in product development, data science, or operations, with a proven track record in project management and comfort with ambiguity. The ability to analyze complex operational data, build queries, and identify trends to inform decisions and optimize processes is crucial. Technical aptitude is required to produce data for advanced post-training techniques such as supervised fine-tuning (SFT), reinforcement learning through human feedback (RLHF), and reinforcement learning with verifiable rewards (RLVR).
The base salary range for this full-time position in Washington, DC, is $169,600 to $212,000 USD. Compensation packages include base salary, equity, and benefits such as comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage, retirement benefits, a learning and development stipend, and generous paid time off. Additional benefits may include a commuter stipend.
