US Conec, Ltd., a global leader in high-density optical interconnects, is seeking a General Counsel to serve as the company's chief legal officer and trusted business advisor. Established in 1992 and headquartered in Hickory, North Carolina, US Conec specializes in designing, developing, and manufacturing passive components for optical interconnects. The company operates as an equity venture of Corning Inc., Fujikura Ltd., and NTT Advanced Technology Corporation, delivering technology solutions for data centers, public networks, and industrial and military markets worldwide.

In this role, the General Counsel will be responsible for overseeing all legal affairs of the company, including commercial contracts, corporate governance, compliance, employment law, litigation management, intellectual property, and enterprise risk. Reporting directly to the President, the General Counsel will collaborate closely with the executive leadership team to navigate complex legal, regulatory, and commercial matters across a global manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in good standing. A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible legal experience is required, with significant expertise in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts. Strong knowledge of corporate law, compliance, employment law, and risk management is essential. Experience advising executive leadership on strategic business matters, along with excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, is also necessary.

While not mandatory, a combination of law firm and in-house legal experience is preferred. Experience in the manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or technology industries, as well as managing intellectual property portfolios, supporting international business operations, and handling mergers and acquisitions, would be advantageous. The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and demonstrate the highest level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion is crucial.
