Global Head of Commercial Compliance - Travel
Nium is seeking a Global Head of Commercial Compliance for its Travel segment, a pivotal role within the company's dynamic compliance team. This position involves designing, implementing, and managing a comprehensive compliance framework tailored to the travel industry's unique requirements. The successful candidate will ensure that product innovation and commercial expansion are supported by robust, scalable compliance controls.
Key responsibilities include developing a compliance strategy covering AML/CTF, sanctions, KYC/KYB, and transaction monitoring specific to platform businesses. The role requires proactive collaboration with sales, marketing, and product teams to embed compliance-by-design into new products and services. Additionally, the individual will act as the primary liaison with regulators, leading communications, examinations, and licensing processes across various jurisdictions.
The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in compliance, with deep expertise in cross-border payments or fintech, and specific experience within multinational travel companies or travel management firms. A commercial mindset is essential, viewing compliance as a facilitator for business growth. Expert knowledge of global regulatory frameworks in major markets, including Singapore, the United Kingdom, Europe, and North America, is required. Proficiency with AI-native tools and stablecoin settlement rails, along with a strong understanding of international trade laws, sanctions, data privacy (GDPR), and consumer protection laws, is also necessary.
