GNC Engineer
Muon Space is seeking a skilled Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves collaborating across disciplines to design and implement control systems for our low Earth orbit satellite constellations, contributing to our mission of delivering critical Earth intelligence data.
The GNC Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing GNC architectures and algorithms in an embedded C++ environment. Key tasks include defining requirements for Attitude Determination and Control Systems (ADCS) algorithms and hardware, performing mission-specific GNC performance analyses, and developing ground-processing algorithms for sensor calibration. Additional duties involve supporting anomaly resolution of on-orbit systems and participating in software and hardware-in-the-loop test planning and execution.
Candidates should possess a PhD or Master's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, or equivalent experience, with at least 2-3 years of professional experience in GNC analysis and design. Proficiency in C++, knowledge of control and optimization theory, and expertise in numerical programming environments such as Python, Julia, or MATLAB are essential. Experience in designing and implementing ADCS/GNC subsystems for spacecraft, along with strong communication and coordination skills, is also required.
The salary range for this position is $124,000 to $189,000 annually, complemented by a competitive equity grant and comprehensive benefits package. Final compensation will be determined based on skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location during the interview process.
