The Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs at Lextorahlds is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing the company's legal department and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Key responsibilities include offering advisory services on legal and regulatory matters, managing relationships with external legal counsel, and ensuring compliance with agreed service levels. The role also involves drafting, negotiating, and interpreting various legal documents, participating in the development of the organization's strategic goals, and reviewing and authorizing expenditures and transactions within the legal department. Additionally, the Head of Legal and Regulatory Affairs is expected to provide leadership and strategic direction to the legal team and stay informed about best practices and changes in regulations to advise the organization accordingly.
Candidates should possess a minimum of a first degree in Law, with an LLM in Commercial Law being advantageous. A minimum of 10 years of post-call experience is required, with a background in the oil and gas, energy, or manufacturing industries preferred. In-depth knowledge of international and local business and commercial law is essential, along with experience in handling regulatory affairs and legal matters in the power sector. Prior involvement in complex transactions is also desirable.
