Mercuryo is seeking an experienced Head of Compliance to lead the compliance framework for its Croatian entity, which is applying for authorization as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP) under the EU Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). This role involves establishing and maintaining a robust risk management and compliance framework, ensuring the company's operations align with European and Croatian regulatory requirements. The Head of Compliance will work within a group of regulated financial institutions to uphold strong governance, internal controls, and regulatory oversight.

Key responsibilities include developing and maintaining the organization's risk management framework in line with group policies and EU regulations. The role requires identifying, assessing, and monitoring key risk categories such as operational, regulatory, ICT and cybersecurity, third-party and outsourcing, and financial crime risks. Additionally, the Head of Compliance will ensure adherence to relevant regulatory requirements, including MiCA, DORA, and the EU AML/CFT framework, while providing guidance to management and internal teams on regulatory obligations.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law, Finance, Risk Management, Economics, or a related discipline, along with over seven years of experience in risk management, compliance, or regulatory roles. Experience in regulated financial institutions, fintech, or crypto-asset businesses is essential, as is familiarity with EU financial services regulations such as MiFID, MiCA, DORA, and AML frameworks. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent policy drafting abilities, and effective communication and stakeholder management capabilities are also required.
