Head of Corporate Development
The Head of Corporate Development at Mesh is a pivotal role responsible for establishing and leading the company's mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and strategic partnerships functions. This position operates at the intersection of strategy, finance, and technology, requiring a deep understanding of the crypto payments ecosystem. The role is hybrid, based in either San Francisco, CA, or New York City, NY, with three days per week in the office.
In this capacity, the individual will build and manage a high-quality pipeline of M&A opportunities and strategic partnerships across the crypto payments landscape. Responsibilities include leading deals from initial outreach through diligence, negotiation, and closing, conducting thorough evaluations of financials, product architecture, API integrations, and commercial viability. The role also involves developing investment theses, deal frameworks, and scoring models, presenting insights directly to the CEO, SVP, and board, and collaborating closely with Legal and Finance teams to structure and negotiate successful deals.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, with over five years of experience in investment banking, growth, venture capital, product, or strategy roles, or in-house corporate development at a fintech or crypto company. A strong grasp of crypto payments infrastructure, including stablecoins, on/off-ramps, exchange integrations, custody, and compliance, is essential. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading M&A or strategic partnerships from inception to completion, with the ability to build financial models and critically assess assumptions. Technical fluency to evaluate API architectures and integration complexities is also required.
The annual base salary for this role ranges from $200,000 to $225,000, with compensation adjusted based on experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location.
