Red Cell Partners is seeking a Head of Design to lead and execute product design across the company and its portfolio of rapidly scalable technology-led companies in healthcare, cyber, and national security. This hands-on role requires a design leader who thrives in ambiguity and can operate across the full startup lifecycle, from drafting early concepts to building scalable design systems. The Head of Design will be both a design operator and leader, setting direction while actively contributing to the work.

Key responsibilities include partnering closely with founders, product, engineering, and leadership to translate ambiguous problem spaces into clear, actionable product design direction. The role involves building early concepts and future-state prototypes to test ideas quickly, designing and shipping high-quality products and improvements from early concepts to high-fidelity prototypes, and creating intuitive user experiences across various platforms. Additionally, the Head of Design will establish lightweight frameworks, standards, and patterns that enable speed without bureaucracy and help define how design scales as companies mature.

The ideal candidate will have over 12 years of experience in product, UX, and front-end design, including leadership roles in high-growth startups or scale-ups. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field is required. Strong understanding of AI fundamentals and their application in product experiences, knowledge of front-end development languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and expertise in design tools like Figma are essential. The candidate should demonstrate success in designing across multiple phases of company growth, exceptional craft across UX, visual design, systems thinking, and storytelling, and the ability to connect user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.

The compensation for this role includes a base salary ranging from $200,000 to $250,000, plus a bonus. Red Cell Partners offers comprehensive benefits, including 100% employer-paid healthcare coverage, paid parental leave, unlimited PTO with management approval, opportunities for professional development, and optional 401(k) and FSA plans.

Red Cell Partners fosters a collaborative and innovative culture, emphasizing values such as collaboration, accountability, and passion. The company supports a remote-first work environment, with certain roles having in-office requirements. Employees are encouraged to invest in their professional growth, with the company providing opportunities for learning and advancement. Joining Red Cell Partners means contributing to a mission-driven organization dedicated to addressing the nation's most pressing problems through innovation.
