The Head of Legal at GiveWell will lead the organization's legal department, providing strategic legal guidance to senior management and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. This role involves overseeing all legal matters within the company, including contract negotiations, intellectual property, and corporate governance. The Head of Legal will also manage relationships with external legal counsel and develop internal legal policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities include advising executives on legal risks and opportunities, drafting and reviewing contracts and other legal documents, and ensuring compliance with data privacy laws and industry regulations. The Head of Legal will also oversee litigation matters, collaborate with other departments to address legal issues, and develop training programs to promote legal awareness within the organization.

Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree and be licensed to practice law. A minimum of 10 years of legal experience, including significant in-house counsel time, is required. Strong business acumen, deep understanding of commercial law, intellectual property, data privacy, and technology contracts are essential. Experience in the nonprofit sector is preferred.
