Head of Off-Chain Engineering
The Head of Off-Chain Engineering at Mesh will lead the development and integration of off-chain components, including exchanges and fiat systems, to ensure seamless crypto and fiat transactions. This role is pivotal in enhancing the reliability and scalability of Mesh's global crypto payments network. Mesh, founded in 2020 and headquartered in San Francisco, connects over 300 exchanges and wallets, enabling companies like PayPal and Revolut to facilitate instant crypto and fiat payments.
In this role, the Head of Off-Chain Engineering will define and execute the off-chain strategy, oversee the integration of new exchanges, and maintain high standards for system reliability and performance. Responsibilities include setting clear objectives, leading a team of engineers across multiple time zones, and collaborating with product and customer success teams to prioritize client impact. The position requires a hands-on approach, including code reviews and active participation in major incidents.
Candidates should have over 12 years of engineering experience, with several years in leadership roles managing multiple teams. A deep understanding of crypto and payments systems, including experience with exchanges, brokerage, custody, or payments infrastructure, is essential. The ideal candidate will be technically proficient, capable of designing for third-party failures, and comfortable presenting strategies to executive teams. Experience in AI integration within engineering teams is a plus.
The total annual compensation for this role ranges from $600,000 to $900,000, depending on experience and location. This package includes base salary and may be adjusted based on individual circumstances and geographic location.
