Innovation Attorney - Transactions

King & Spalding, a leading global law firm, is seeking an Innovation Attorney to integrate advanced legal technologies into transactional legal workflows. This role involves collaborating with lawyers, matter teams, clients, and practice groups to enhance efficiency and service delivery through innovative solutions. The position is based in Atlanta, Georgia, and reports to the Director of Practice Technology & AI.

The Innovation Attorney will develop and implement strategies to optimize transactional legal services by applying generative AI and other technological resources. Responsibilities include configuring legal technologies and platforms to meet practice group needs, serving as a liaison for clients interested in AI collaborations, and responding to client inquiries regarding legal tech functionality, security, and ethical use. The role also involves staying abreast of legal industry trends and emerging technologies, providing updates and analysis to firm management and practice group leadership.

Candidates should possess a Juris Doctor (JD) and be admitted to the relevant state bar, with a minimum of two years of experience as a practicing transactional lawyer or in a legal operations role with a transactional focus. Proficiency in general technology, legal technology, and artificial intelligence is required, along with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. A customer service and problem-solving mindset, along with effective teamwork skills, are essential.
