Charles River Associates (CRA) is a leading global consulting firm that offers economic, financial, and strategic expertise to major law firms, corporations, and governments worldwide. The Antitrust & Competition Economics Practice specializes in providing economic advice on competition policy and regulation, assisting clients in various proceedings before competition authorities and courts. CRA has played a key role in shaping European competition policy across industries such as aerospace, software, manufacturing, and transportation.

The Summer Analyst/Associate Internship program is an 8-10 week experience designed to mirror the analyst role, providing interns with hands-on project work alongside senior colleagues. Interns will engage in live client consulting projects, benefiting from professional development programs, wellness support, and social events to connect with peers. Successful interns may receive offers for full-time positions upon graduation.

Key responsibilities include identifying potential issues and conducting analyses to illustrate economic arguments, assembling compelling evidence from data and research, programming and building models using statistical analysis programs such as Stata, Python, or R, assisting in the development and presentation of client deliverables like expert reports and white papers, communicating complex economic concepts to internal teams, and ensuring the integrity and accuracy of analyses and opinions.

Candidates should be pursuing an undergraduate degree in economics from well-regarded institutions, with an expected graduation between December 2026 and August 2027. A strong foundation in microeconomics, industrial economics, and/or econometrics is essential, along with a high degree of numeracy and comfort with data manipulation. Familiarity with econometric techniques is desirable. Effective oral and written communication skills, eagerness to learn new skills and programming languages, demonstrated initiative and leadership, strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities, and excellent time management and task prioritization skills are also required.

The internship offers a collegial work environment with opportunities for professional development, including technical training, presentation skills, internal seminars, and performance coaching. Interns are expected to work in the office 3 to 4 days per week on average, with specific days determined in coordination with the practice or team. Successful interns may be offered full-time positions following graduation.
