IT Infrastructure Manager
Lyell Immunopharma is a clinical-stage biotechnology company dedicated to developing next-generation CAR T-cell therapies for patients with solid tumors and hematologic malignancies. The IT Infrastructure Manager will be based in South San Francisco, California, reporting to the Director of IT Infrastructure & Operations. This role is integral to ensuring the reliability and compliance of Lyell's IT infrastructure within a regulated life sciences environment.
The IT Infrastructure Manager will design, implement, and maintain Lyell's cloud (AWS) and on-premises infrastructure, networking, identity, and collaboration platforms. Responsibilities include translating architecture designs into detailed configurations, managing AWS environments with a focus on governance and security, and overseeing on-premises server and network systems. The role also involves ensuring backup and disaster recovery integrity, managing VPN and telecommunications infrastructure, and supporting lab infrastructure.
Candidates should possess a BA/BS in an information technology field or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 10 years in IT infrastructure, including over 8 years in solution architecture across cloud, on-premises, and networking environments. Experience in the life sciences or biotech sector, particularly with GxP and regulated IT operations, is essential. Technical expertise in AWS, Windows Server, VMware vSphere, Active Directory, and network administration is required. Hands-on experience with Okta, Microsoft 365, Zoom, Slack, and scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Ruby is also necessary.
The compensation package includes an annual salary ranging from $175,000 to $195,000, with eligibility for an annual bonus and participation in Lyell's Equity Incentive Plan.
