Junior Linux Kernel Engineer - Ubuntu

The Junior Linux Kernel Engineer - Ubuntu will join Canonical, a global leader in open source and the company behind Ubuntu, one of the most popular Linux distributions. This role is part of Canonical’s highly technical Linux Kernel team, which drives innovation and ensures the stability, performance, and security of Ubuntu across a wide range of hardware platforms.

In this position, you will contribute to the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the Linux kernel for Ubuntu, working on kernel updates, bug fixes, hardware enablement, and feature implementation. Collaboration with other Canonical engineers and the broader open source community will be a key part of your daily work. You will analyze performance issues, troubleshoot kernel bugs, and provide timely resolutions for Ubuntu's users and partners.

Ideal candidates will have a strong background in computer science or software engineering, demonstrated experience with C programming, and a foundational understanding of the Linux kernel architecture. Familiarity with open source development, experience working with git, and strong problem-solving abilities are essential. A degree in a relevant technical field and prior involvement with Linux or Ubuntu will be highly valued.
