The Knowledge Lawyer position at Clifford Chance is integral to the Debt Finance team, which advises on a comprehensive range of debt finance matters, including leveraged finance, asset finance, real estate and infrastructure finance, fund finance, corporate lending, syndicated facilities, and private credit. The team collaborates with banks, financial institutions, corporates, sponsors, funds, and direct lenders on various financing arrangements, providing clear and pragmatic advice on sophisticated finance matters.

Key responsibilities include conducting research on complex legal topics, drafting legal memoranda, practice notes, and client briefings, and contributing to internal and external publications. The role also involves preparing client communications to share Clifford Chance's expertise, staying updated on legal developments, and disseminating knowledge to the team. Additionally, the Knowledge Lawyer contributes to junior lawyer education, organizes internal meetings and conferences for knowledge sharing, maintains and enhances the template library, and ensures coordination of legal knowledge management initiatives within the Luxembourg office and across the firm.

The ideal candidate holds an excellent academic background in law, with experience in drafting and publishing articles, as well as organizing conferences, presentations, and training sessions. They should demonstrate strong project management skills and an interest in civil/contract law, ideally with experience in private international law, security/collateral, and insolvency law matters. The role requires good analytical and research skills, along with project management, organizational, and planning abilities, enabling effective prioritization of multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines. The candidate should be self-motivated, capable of working independently, and possess strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written. Fluency in English and French is required, with German and/or Luxembourgish considered an asset.
