Kotlin Backend Engineer - Merchant Group

As a Kotlin Backend Engineer in Wolt's Merchant Group, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining scalable microservices that enhance merchant experiences. The Merchant Group comprises over 150 engineers across 25+ cross-functional teams, all dedicated to helping merchants grow their businesses through innovative technology solutions.

In this role, you will design, build, and scale reliable systems that power merchant interactions. Your responsibilities will span the full development lifecycle, including business logic implementation, testing, cloud infrastructure management, and data streaming. Collaboration is key, as you will work closely with team members to make architectural and technological decisions that ensure our systems remain simple, scalable, and efficient.

We are seeking experienced software engineers with a strong background in building scalable microservices. Proficiency in Kotlin is essential, and experience with Java, Scala, or other JVM backend languages is highly valued. Familiarity with our core technologies—Kotlin (Ktor, Koin, Spring, gRPC), PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Kafka, Redis, GitHub Actions, AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes—is advantageous.
