Lawyer - Insurance and Corporate Risk
McCullough Robertson is seeking a mid to senior level lawyer to join its Insurance and Corporate Risk group in Brisbane. This team is recognized as a leader in the Australian legal market, offering comprehensive advice across various insurance classes, including public and product liability, professional indemnity, and workers' compensation. The firm prides itself on a collaborative and high-performing environment, supported by over 400 staff across Brisbane and Sydney.
In this role, the successful candidate will primarily represent defendants in personal injury claims, with a particular focus on abuse claims, as well as other commercial sectors. Responsibilities include handling public liability cases, workers' compensation appeals, property damage disputes, policy interpretation, coverage litigation, and general insurance and contractual matters. The position offers opportunities to build strong client relationships across industries such as construction, resources, agribusiness, property ownership, not-for-profit, technology, and infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years post-admission experience, demonstrating technical excellence and a passion for insurance law. A background in personal injury claims, especially within the defendant space, is essential. Candidates with plaintiff experience who are eager to transition to defendant work are also encouraged to apply.
