Lead Commercial Counsel
SpecterOps is seeking a hands-on, business-minded attorney to serve as the Lead Commercial Counsel. In this role, you will be the primary legal partner for our Sales, Customer Success, Security, and Procurement teams, guiding and mentoring members of the contracts/legal staff. This position offers the opportunity to improve existing playbooks while advancing people, process, and technology capabilities within the organization.
Key responsibilities include leading the negotiation and drafting of customer MSAs, SOWs, order forms, renewals, amendments, DPAs, and vendor SaaS/service agreements. You will enhance the contracts function through better alignment of people, processes, and technology, and partner with Sales, Security, Finance, and Procurement to balance risk with deal velocity. Additionally, you will provide guidance and leadership to members of the contracts/legal staff and work with outside counsel as needed to help shape the future operating model of the legal/contracts function.
The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience focused on commercial contracts in B2B SaaS, ideally within the cybersecurity sector. Strong negotiation skills, the ability to create or improve templates and playbooks, excellent attention to detail, prioritization, and practical judgment are essential. A JD and active license are required, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. The position offers a base salary range of $175,000 to $225,000, commensurate with experience.
