Lead Counsel, Cybersecurity and Privacy
The Lead Counsel, Cybersecurity and Privacy at Wabtec will spearhead the company's global privacy and cybersecurity legal and compliance initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer, this role involves close collaboration with Legal, Information Security, IT, HR, Procurement, and business leaders to develop and implement strategies that align with Wabtec's objectives and industry best practices.
Key responsibilities include translating global privacy and cybersecurity requirements into practical, scalable controls, advising on EU/UK cybersecurity and digital operations requirements, and leading the development of data privacy policies and procedures. The Lead Counsel will also supervise a Data Privacy Specialist, oversee data protection impact assessments, monitor global privacy and cybersecurity laws, and serve as a point of contact for data privacy inquiries and data subject requests.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school and be a member in good standing of a state bar. A minimum of 7 years of legal experience focusing on data privacy and cybersecurity compliance is required, with preference given to those with experience in a global manufacturing company. People leadership experience and certifications such as CIPP are advantageous.
Wabtec offers a competitive salary range of $161,300 to $229,800 annually, with the actual salary influenced by factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location.
