Legal Billing Specialist (Law Firm Experience Required)
Tyson & Mendes LLP is seeking a Legal Billing Specialist to join their Accounting Department in San Diego, CA. This role involves managing the firm's billing processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with client guidelines, and supporting attorneys and staff in billing-related matters. Key responsibilities include reviewing and editing pre-bills, compiling and billing attorney and paralegal hours to clients, and submitting electronic bills through various platforms. The specialist will also handle billing exceptions, troubleshoot submission issues, and maintain a high volume of bills per cycle. Effective communication with attorneys, clients, and vendors is essential to ensure billing expectations are met and any issues are promptly resolved.
Candidates must have at least three years of billing experience in a professional services firm, with legal billing experience required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook, and experience with legal billing software such as Elite 3E are necessary. Familiarity with third-party administrative systems and electronic billing platforms is also important. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a high-stress environment are essential.
The compensation package includes an hourly pay range of $25 to $34, depending on experience, with overtime paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate as needed.
