Legal Compliance Advisor, Artificial Intelligence Governance
The Legal Compliance Advisor, Artificial Intelligence Governance at Cigna Group is responsible for supporting the responsible, compliant, and scalable use of artificial intelligence (AI) across the enterprise. This role plays a critical part in operationalizing AI governance by translating emerging legal and regulatory requirements into practical oversight, controls, and implementation guidance. The advisor will report to the Chief Privacy and Innovation Governance Officer and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of attorneys, compliance professionals, and data scientists to enable trusted innovation and enterprise risk management.
Key responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining a Human-in-the-Loop Oversight Program to support responsible and compliant use of AI across enterprise initiatives. The advisor will serve as a primary liaison across the Office of Privacy and Innovation Governance and with key partners, including Privacy and Innovation, Enterprise Model Governance, the AI Center of Enablement, Compliance AI Stewards, and business teams deploying AI solutions. Additionally, the role involves acting as a project manager for AI compliance initiatives, tracking emerging laws and regulations related to AI, and developing a centralized database of AI-related legal and regulatory requirements.
Candidates should possess a bachelor's degree, with an advanced degree preferred, and have over five years of experience in legal, compliance, regulatory, or risk management roles involving complex and evolving regulatory frameworks and emergent technology. Exposure to laws or regulatory developments related to artificial intelligence, generative AI, and/or machine learning is strongly preferred. The role requires demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional initiatives, strong project management and organizational skills, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and experience developing executive-ready presentations are also essential.
The position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $96,200 to $160,400, depending on relevant factors such as experience and geographic location.
