Legal Counsel, Credit Administration

The Legal Counsel, Credit Administration role is integral to Moniepoint's mission, ensuring that all credit transactions are legally sound and compliant with applicable laws and internal policies.
The Legal Counsel will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating loan documentation, including loan agreements, security documents, and guarantees. They will conduct legal due diligence on borrowers, guarantors, and collateral, ensuring all documentation is properly executed and registered. Additionally, the role involves providing legal advisory support to the business loans, credit, recovery, and risk teams, as well as managing post-disbursement documentation and liaising with external solicitors and regulatory bodies.
Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) and have 4–7 years of post-call experience in banking, fintech, financial services, or a reputable law firm with a strong finance and commercial practice. They must have proven experience in drafting and managing loan agreements and other credit-related documentation, along with a strong working knowledge of Nigerian banking, finance, and credit-related laws and regulations. High attention to detail, strong commercial awareness, and excellent organizational and time management skills are essential.
