Legal Counsel Data Privacy
N26 is seeking a Legal Counsel specializing in Data Privacy to join our 'Beyond Banking Law' team in Berlin. This role offers the opportunity to work within a rapidly growing, regulated company, focusing on data protection law and the implementation of the AI Act. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including external companies and law firms, to ensure compliance with national and European data protection regulations.
Key responsibilities include conducting legal reviews on data protection matters, negotiating diverse contracts, and advising the product team on compliance with data protection and AI-related legal requirements. The role also involves creating and maintaining internal and external data protection documentation, such as processing directories, data protection impact assessments, and privacy policies. Additionally, the Legal Counsel will contribute to building and automating processes within the Data Privacy Team and stay informed about developments in European data protection and AI law.
The ideal candidate is a fully qualified EU lawyer with excellent academic credentials and registration with a bar association. They should possess 2-3 years of professional experience in data protection law, preferably within a renowned law firm or international company. Fluency in English is required, with additional language skills in German, Spanish, French, or Italian considered a plus. A background that includes experience with a data protection authority is advantageous.
