Geotab is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its dynamic legal team. This role involves managing complex legal agreements and negotiations with various business partners, focusing on technology, data licensing, government contracting, privacy, and intellectual property. Geotab is a global leader in IoT and connected transportation, providing web-based analytics to help businesses manage their fleets more effectively.

The Legal Counsel will be responsible for handling end-user agreements, distribution agreements, enterprise-level customer agreements, OEM agreements, wireless carrier agreements, and non-disclosure agreements. The role includes supporting negotiations with resellers, customers, solution partners, OEMs, suppliers, governments, and other stakeholders globally. Additionally, the position involves providing input into legal strategies addressing mass/electronic contracting, third-party flow-through, and dynamic product development requiring constant upgrades and changes.

Candidates should have 5-8 years of experience with a law firm or in-house legal department. A post-secondary degree or diploma in law with a license to practice in Ontario and membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario is required. Experience negotiating and working with large, multi-national, regulated organizations and municipal, state, and federal government entities is essential. Familiarity with AI, business intelligence, data analytics operations, and privacy considerations is also important.
