Legal Counsel, Group Legal

Man Group is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Group Legal team based in London. This team plays a pivotal role in supporting the firm's commercial and corporate strategies, mitigating legal risks, and upholding high standards of corporate governance and compliance. The position offers the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues across international offices, including those in the US, Europe, and Asia.

The Legal Counsel will be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts, as well as addressing daily legal inquiries. The role includes providing legal advice on a broad spectrum of corporate and commercial matters, escalating complex issues to senior team members when necessary. Additional duties involve advising on corporate projects such as restructurings or acquisitions, assisting with data protection compliance, supporting real estate matters related to office leases, monitoring relevant legal and regulatory developments, and aiding sales and marketing teams in the global distribution of investment products.

Candidates should be qualified solicitors admitted to practice in England & Wales, with approximately 2-4 years of post-qualification experience. Strong academic credentials are essential, along with experience in drafting and negotiating contracts. While knowledge of alternative investment funds and their regulation is advantageous, it is not mandatory. The ideal candidate will be proactive, capable of working independently within a collaborative team environment, and possess strong legal skills applied with sound commercial judgment. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are crucial for success in this role.
