Legal Counsel, Informa Connect (9-month FTC)
Informa Connect is seeking a Legal Counsel for a 9-month fixed-term contract to support its global B2B events business. The role involves providing strategic legal guidance across various verticals, including Tech, Global Finance, Life Sciences, Food Services, Aesthetic and Longevity Medicine, and B2C events. The successful candidate will work with marquee event brands such as SuperReturn, BIO-Europe, The AI Summit, and Fan Expo, as well as Informa Connect’s training, subscription, and media businesses.
Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a diverse range of commercial contracts, such as customer terms and conditions, vendor agreements, IT agreements, barter agreements, speaker agreements, event management and collaboration agreements, and NDAs. The role also involves updating agreement templates to align with changing business policies, legal risks, and regulatory compliance requirements. Additionally, the Legal Counsel will respond to ad hoc legal queries, including contract and payment disputes, attendee misconduct, and waivers for event activities, and advise on intellectual property-related issues and dispute resolution strategies.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of qualified legal experience, with strong experience within an in-house legal function. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly. A commercially minded approach, strategic thinking, and strong problem-solving abilities are also required. The candidate should be proactive, able to prioritize effectively, and comfortable managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
