The Legal Counsel, Technology & Innovation role at Facebook involves providing strategic legal guidance to product and engineering teams, supporting the development and launch of innovative products across the Facebook and Messenger services worldwide. This position is integral to navigating complex regulatory environments, collaborating cross-functionally, and ensuring responsible innovation at scale.

Key responsibilities include counseling product and engineering teams on features, launches, go-to-market activities, and emerging initiatives, including the use of AI and new technologies. The role also involves leading legal reviews of product proposals for new and existing features, collaborating with various legal teams to deliver practical, business-focused legal guidance, and developing compliance strategies for high-impact partnerships and products.

The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution and an active bar license in at least one U.S. state. A minimum of 5 years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm, in-house, or in government, is required. Demonstrated expertise in AI, e-commerce, marketplace, content, consumer protection, privacy, and/or consumer tech-focused regulatory compliance is essential. Strong communication and project management skills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver clear, actionable guidance under pressure, are also necessary.

Compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $170,000 to $237,000 per year, with additional benefits such as bonuses, equity, and comprehensive health insurance.
