Legal Director, Legal Transactions
The Legal Director, Legal Transactions at Five9 will lead the execution of daily sales and commercial legal processes, collaborating closely with the sales team and other departments to achieve company objectives and drive legal initiatives. This role involves drafting and negotiating complex sales transactions, including SaaS agreements with a diverse range of clients and partners across various industries.
Key responsibilities include negotiating and drafting complex sales transactions, such as SaaS agreements, Data Protection Agreements, Business Associate Agreements, vendor/supplier contracts, and reseller agreements. The Legal Director will also counsel team members on matters involving telecommunications, service level agreements, artificial intelligence, and data privacy frameworks, including GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA. Additionally, the role involves negotiating various commercial agreements and assisting in the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor (JD) degree with 10-15 years of combined law firm and in-house legal experience, including at least 6 years in drafting and negotiating complex agreements in a high-pressure tech sales environment. Substantial experience with SaaS agreements and familiarity with global operations are essential. Experience with telecommunications law, artificial intelligence, and data privacy frameworks is strongly preferred. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, a self-motivated attitude, and the ability to manage multiple activities in a fast-paced environment.
