Legal Extern (Fall 2026)
Hasbro is seeking a Legal Extern for the Fall 2026 semester to join their Legal team in Renton, Washington. This part-time, hybrid position offers law students in their 2L or 3L year an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the gaming industry. The externship is designed to provide exposure to various legal aspects within the gaming sector, including intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and more.
As a Legal Extern, you will collaborate with a team of attorneys and legal professionals to navigate the evolving world of gaming. Your responsibilities will include conducting legal research, drafting documents, and assisting with projects related to antitrust, advertising, data protection, privacy, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, licensing, rights of publicity, business, gaming, and entertainment. You will also work closely with business teams to apply legal principles and analysis to support internal partners on complex legal issues in the digital entertainment space.
Ideal candidates should have a passion for learning and exploring the games industry. Prior coursework in intellectual property, entertainment law, commercial transactions, or business law is preferred. Experience in a legal environment or the gaming industry is also advantageous. Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential. Candidates should be self-starters who are results-oriented, exhibit responsibility, creativity, and intellectual curiosity, and have the ability to adapt quickly to an ever-changing environment. Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize workload are crucial.
This is an unpaid, for-credit legal externship opportunity. To apply, interested candidates must submit a cover letter, resume, law school transcripts, and a writing sample. The externship is available to work in-person at Hasbro's Renton, WA office location for the entire duration of the program.
