Legal Intern, Legal IP (Shanghai)

The Legal Intern, Legal IP position at NBCUniversal's Shanghai office offers an opportunity to engage with the company's intellectual property (IP) legal team. NBCUniversal is a leading global media and entertainment company, producing and distributing content across film, television, and streaming platforms, and operating theme parks worldwide.

In this role, the intern will maintain accurate records of commercial activities involving intellectual property rights, such as marketing promotions and merchandise sales, to support enforcement actions and litigation. Responsibilities include coordinating requests from local business teams, providing IP documentation, maintaining databases for litigation and trademark portfolios, supporting online monitoring and enforcement programs, and conducting legal research on specific issues.

Candidates should be undergraduate (3rd or 4th year) or master's (1st or 2nd year) students pursuing a law degree, with excellent proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint is required, along with strong collaboration and communication skills. Availability to work at least three weekdays per week at the Shanghai office, ideally five, and a commitment to an internship of at least six months starting from late June or early July are necessary.

This internship provides hands-on exposure to real IP practice beyond classroom theory at a leading global entertainment company. Interns will gain insight into how in-house legal teams support commercial activities and collaborate with business stakeholders, while developing skills in legal research, organization, and IP portfolio management.
