Legal Secretary
Career Personnel is seeking a detail-oriented and professional Legal Secretary to provide administrative and clerical support to our attorneys and legal team. This role is integral to ensuring the smooth operation of our legal services, contributing to the firm's commitment to excellence in client representation.
The Legal Secretary will be responsible for preparing, proofreading, and editing legal documents, correspondence, and reports. Key duties include managing calendars, scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings and court dates, maintaining and organizing case files in both electronic and hard copy formats, handling client communications, and filing documents with courts and government agencies as required. Additionally, the role involves drafting routine legal documents such as subpoenas, summonses, and discovery requests, performing legal research, processing mail, and ensuring the confidentiality of all client and case information.
The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with an associate’s degree or certificate in legal studies preferred. Previous experience as a legal secretary, administrative assistant, or in a law office environment is required. Strong knowledge of legal terminology, documents, and procedures, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software, are essential for success in this position.
