Legal Services Director
The Legal Services Director at Central California Alliance for Health (the Alliance) leads the Legal Services Department, providing strategic oversight and counsel on legal and administrative contracting issues. Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, this role is integral to the organization's operations, ensuring compliance and managing enterprise risk.
Key responsibilities include directing the Legal Services Department, managing litigation and disputes related to Alliance operations, overseeing health plan administrative contracting, and supervising department staff. The director also provides advice on business operations and legal matters.
Candidates must possess a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, be admitted to the State Bar of California, and have a minimum of seven years of experience as a practicing healthcare attorney, including at least five years in a management role and three years related to health plan operations. Knowledge of healthcare laws, including the Knox-Keene Health Care Service Plan Act, Affordable Care Act, HIPAA, and regulations pertaining to Medi-Cal, Medicaid, and Medicare, is essential.
The Alliance offers a competitive salary, with hiring ranges based on work location. For Zone 1 (Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz Counties), the range is $250,000 to $300,000 annually; for Zone 2 (Mariposa and Merced Counties), it's $230,000 to $280,000.
