Lighting & Controls Foreman
Latitude Inc. is seeking an experienced Lighting & Controls Foreman to oversee field operations on commercial electrical and lighting control projects. This full-time, on-site position is based in Norfolk, VA, and involves leading installation efforts from early-stage rough-in through final system startup and commissioning. The Lighting & Controls Foreman will lead daily jobsite activities for electrical and lighting controls installations, coordinating labor, materials, and project sequencing to maintain schedules. Responsibilities include supervising the installation of lighting fixtures, control systems, and power distribution components, reading and interpreting electrical drawings and control schematics, ensuring compliance with NEC and project standards, supporting system startup and commissioning, maintaining accurate project documentation, training and mentoring field personnel, and enforcing safety protocols on-site.
Candidates should have over five years of commercial electrical construction experience, prior experience leading crews or working in a foreman/lead capacity, a strong understanding of electrical systems (including 120V–277V), and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams. Exposure to or interest in lighting control systems is desired. A Journeyman Electrician license is preferred, with a Master license considered a plus. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills are essential.
Preferred experience includes familiarity with lighting control systems such as 0-10V, DALI, DMX, and PoE, knowledge of networked systems or building automation (BAS), background in retrofit or renovation projects, and experience with commissioning and system troubleshooting.
