Linux Engineer
As a Linux Engineer at Graphcore, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of our systems and supporting our personnel. Your primary focus will be on managing and maintaining Linux-based environments, contributing to the stability and security of our infrastructure. In this role, your responsibilities will include logging and resolving support requests both in person and through our ticketing system, managing Linux systems with Level 1 and Level 2 support, and performing security patching with thorough risk assessments. You will collaborate with engineering teams to oversee hybrid cloud and on-premises servers, maintain Infrastructure-as-Code specifications for deploying and automating changes, and manage essential infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, VPN, and LDAP. Additionally, you will support our virtualization platforms and ensure our internal knowledge base remains current and comprehensive.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and customer service skills, a strong understanding of troubleshooting principles, and over five years of experience in system administration with a focus on delivering core infrastructure services and automation. Proficiency in Linux administration, particularly with Debian and RedHat derivatives on both bare metal and virtual machines, is essential. A solid grasp of networking concepts, experience with CI/CD pipelines, and familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform, Puppet, or Ansible are also required. Experience managing virtualization platforms such as VMware ESXi/vSphere and KVM/libvirtd is highly desirable.
