Litigation Assistant
Morgan & Morgan is seeking a dedicated Litigation Assistant to join our team in Melbourne, Florida. As a Litigation Assistant, you will play a crucial role in managing the firm's daily operations and providing essential support to our legal team. This position is ideal for individuals with a strong work ethic and exceptional problem-solving skills who thrive in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will be responsible for performing administrative duties such as scheduling hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics. You will maintain pleadings and discovery indexes, organize exhibits and legal documents, and implement administrative processes to enhance workflow efficiency. Additionally, you will collect and organize evidence for attorney review, draft and proofread legal documents, research regulations and laws, manage client billing, and communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings and depositions.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for those holding an associate's degree in paralegal studies, a paralegal certificate, or a bachelor's degree. A minimum of two years of experience as an administrative assistant, legal assistant, legal secretary, or paralegal is required, preferably within a law firm or corporate legal department. Experience in personal injury or related practice areas is preferred. Candidates must be highly organized, capable of multitasking, and possess strong written and communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and a typing speed of at least 35 words per minute are also required.
