Litigation Counsel
The Litigation Counsel at Buttcon will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the company's litigation portfolio, ensuring legal compliance, and mitigating risks associated with construction projects. This position is integral to Buttcon's legal team, contributing to the company's commitment to delivering quality services in the construction industry.
Key responsibilities include providing legal support throughout all phases of construction projects, managing litigation and claims, and acting as a liaison between project leaders and external legal counsel. The role also involves developing and implementing strategies to mitigate risks, reviewing contract provisions related to claims, and staying updated on industry trends and legal developments.
The ideal candidate will possess a Juris Doctor or Bachelor of Laws degree from an accredited Canadian university and be a member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario. A minimum of 2-3 years of post-call experience is required, with experience in construction and/or commercial law considered an asset. Strong legal research and drafting abilities, as well as excellent verbal reasoning skills, are essential.
