Litigation Paralegal (Complex Trial)
Tyson & Mendes LLP, a nationally recognized law firm specializing in insurance defense and high-exposure litigation, is seeking an experienced Complex Trial Paralegal to join their team in San Diego, CA. This role offers hybrid work opportunities and involves supporting attorneys in multi-party civil litigation, catastrophic personal injury, and construction defect matters. The Complex Trial Paralegal will manage complex, multi-party case files and discovery processes, draft and proofread pleadings, motions, and trial-related documents, coordinate large-scale document productions and e-discovery databases, and prepare exhibits, trial binders, and witness files for depositions, hearings, and trials. Additionally, the paralegal will assist attorneys during trials with exhibit presentation, witness coordination, and real-time problem-solving, while maintaining professional communication with clients, experts, and witnesses.
Candidates must possess a paralegal certification and have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal, preferably with exposure to complex, high-value, or multi-party cases in insurance defense, catastrophic personal injury, or construction defect litigation. A solid understanding of civil litigation procedures, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management systems, and exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities are essential. Experience with litigation in the state of California is highly encouraged.
The compensation package includes an hourly pay range of $35-$48, depending on experience, with overtime paid at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate as needed. Paralegals are eligible for an annual bonus ranging from $250 to $3,000 and receive a monthly technology reimbursement of $60. Comprehensive benefits coverage is offered, including plans available at zero employee cost, and a 401(k) program with a 100% match on the first 3% contributed and a 50% match on the following 4-5%. Paid parental leave is also provided.
